ROHINGYA HUMAN RIGHTS CENTER (RHRC) APPLAUDS APPOINTMENT OF ROHINGYA ACTIVIST AUNG KYAW MOE AS DEPUTY MINISTER IN MYANMAR’S NATIONAL UNITY GOVERNMENT

Bangladesh – The Rohingya Human Rights Center (RHRC) commends the recent appointment of Aung Kyaw Moe, a prominent Rohingya activist, as the Deputy Minister in Myanmar’s National Unity Government (NUG). This historic appointment marks a signi cant step towards inclusivity and represents a vital milestone in recognizing the rights and contributions of the Rohingya
community. Aung Kyaw Moe’s appointment as the rst Rohingya to hold a position within the NUG Civilian Government demonstrates the NUG’s commitment to fostering unity and promoting diversity in Myanmar’s political landscape. His extensive experience and dedication to advocating for the rights of the Rohingya people make him a tting choice for this crucial role. The RHRC recognizes the signi cance of Aung Kyaw Moe’s appointment and calls on the NUG to continue prioritizing the engagement and inclusion of more Rohingya individuals in decision-making processes. About the Rohingya Human Rights Center (RHRC): The RHRC was established in 2021 as a Rohingya-led grassroots organization dedicated to advocating for the protection and promotion of the human rights of Rohingya people in Myanmar as well as Bangladesh. Our mandate is to advocate for the persecuted Rohingya that are not receiving adequate attention from the international community. Our priority is to conduct interviews with Rohingya victims/survivors/witnesses who experienced the
atrocity crimes in 2016 and 2017 to collect and preserve evidence for any criminal proceedings and future generations.
